Unisoftwares is a Pakistani software company with a dedicated hostel management system page. Like BedShift it is built for Pakistani accommodation, and unlike most of the others in this comparison set it names Pakistani payment gateways directly. The main practical difference is how you buy it.

Everything in the Unisoftwares column was read from its own product page on the date shown at the top of this page. Where the page did not state something, this table says so rather than filling the gap.

Positioning
The Unisoftwares page describes a broad institutional feature set: student onboarding and communication, check-ins, check-outs and leave management, attendance and analytics, automated fee and payment solutions, room and occupancy management, maintenance and inventory tracking, visitor and safety management, resource optimisation and paperless operations, and community engagement with a staff dashboard. The language throughout is oriented toward institutions — universities and larger hostels — rather than an owner with two buildings.
BedShift's twelve modules cover property and bed management, bookings, invoicing, payments, a resident portal, staff management, complaints and maintenance, housekeeping, analytics, a marketplace listing, notifications and a native mobile app. The framing is a self-serve product an operator runs themselves.
We are not going to characterise Unisoftwares' delivery model beyond what its page states. Whether an engagement is configured, customised or built to order is not something the page settles, and inventing an answer about a named company's business model is exactly the sort of claim this page exists to avoid. Ask them.
Pricing transparency
Unisoftwares publishes no figures. Its page says to contact them for an accurate estimate and refers to flexible pricing models to accommodate different hostel sizes and budgets. There are no tiers, no per-bed rate and no starting price.
That is a legitimate model, particularly for institutional software where scope varies enormously between a 60-bed hostel and a university with several blocks. But it has a practical consequence worth stating plainly: you cannot budget, shortlist or compare without entering a sales conversation, and you cannot know in advance whether the answer will be in the same range as a published subscription.
Its FAQ does state that free demos and trial versions are provided so you can evaluate the product before committing, which lowers the risk of that conversation considerably.
BedShift publishes plans and their limits. The free plan has no time limit and requires no card, and paid plans open with a 15-day trial. Amounts are set in Paddle and localised per country, so the pricing page is the only accurate place to read a figure.
Payment rails
This is the one axis where Unisoftwares claims something stronger than BedShift, and it deserves to be stated without hedging.
Unisoftwares states that its system integrates with secure payment gateways including EasyPaisa, JazzCash, debit and credit cards, and direct bank transfers. Read plainly, that is gateway-level acceptance of the two dominant Pakistani wallets.
BedShift does not claim that. It integrates Safepay for Pakistan and Stripe globally for card checkout, and for JazzCash, Easypaisa, Raast, IBFT and cash it records and reconciles the payment by channel and reference number against the invoice line it settles. BedShift's own documentation is explicit that it is not a payment gateway and does not replace those rails.
If a resident tapping "pay with JazzCash" inside the software is a requirement, Unisoftwares advertises it and BedShift does not. That is worth verifying in a demo, because "integrates with" covers a wide range of arrangements, but the claim on their page is the stronger one.
Market fit
Both products are Pakistani and both understand Pakistani accommodation. Unisoftwares leans institutional, with leave management, visitor and safety management and community engagement suggesting universities and managed student housing. BedShift is aimed at private operators — boys hostels, girls hostels, working women hostels and boarding houses — and extends to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka through its country pages.
The clearest operational gap is mobile. BedShift advertises a native Android and iOS app with role-based navigation, offline mode with background sync and QR scanning for gate passes. No mobile app is mentioned on the Unisoftwares page we read, though the absence of a mention on one page is not proof that none exists.
When to choose Unisoftwares instead
Choose Unisoftwares if:
- You need EasyPaisa and JazzCash accepted as gateways, not reconciled. They advertise it; BedShift explicitly does not do it. This is the single most concrete reason on this page to pick them.
- You are an institution buying through procurement. A quoted engagement with a named local vendor fits a tender or a purchase order in a way a self-serve subscription often does not.
- Your requirements do not fit a standard product. If you need leave management, institutional safety workflows or something specific to how your campus runs, a vendor sizing the work to your scope may serve you better than a fixed feature set.
- You want a local vendor you can meet. A Pakistani software house you can sit down with is worth real money to some buyers, and BedShift's onboarding is a remote conversation.
- You want a guided evaluation. Their FAQ offers demos and trial versions, which suits a buyer who would rather be walked through it than explore alone.
Choose BedShift if you want to see the price and the limits before you talk to anyone, if you want a native mobile app for staff and residents, or if housekeeping, utility billing and a public marketplace listing are part of what you need.
Frequently asked questions
Does Unisoftwares publish a price for its hostel management system?
No. Its page asks you to contact them for an accurate estimate and refers to flexible pricing models for different hostel sizes and budgets. There are no figures and no published tiers, so cost can only be established through a conversation.
Can you try Unisoftwares before buying?
Its own FAQ says free demos and trial versions are provided so you can evaluate the product before committing. That has to be requested rather than self-served, since there is no published sign-up flow.
Which handles EasyPaisa and JazzCash better?
Unisoftwares states its system integrates with payment gateways including EasyPaisa and JazzCash. BedShift is explicit that it does not replace those rails and instead records and reconciles them by channel and reference, so on gateway-level wallet acceptance Unisoftwares claims more.
