We built this because the register was the system

BedShift started in a Gulberg hostel where the system was a hardback register, three WhatsApp groups and an owner who answered his phone at midnight because the water pump had failed again.

Nothing on the market fitted. Hotel software assumed nightly stays and a front desk. Property software assumed one tenant per unit and a yearly lease. Neither knew what a bed was, or a mess, or a gate pass, or a resident who pays on the 7th because his salary is late.

So the product is built around the bed, and around the way rent actually moves in Pakistan. It is used in six cities, it is billed in rupees, and it is written by people who have sat in that office on the 5th of the month.
